Three large trade networks;

1. The trans-Saharan trade
   1. Camels. Mali became very wealthy. Mansa munsa increased Mali’s power.
2. Silk Road
   1. Luxury goods that were sold high price per items.
   2. Caravanseri→ Guilds, and kind of like safety group.
   3. Money economy→ Slowly graduated goods by goods. Flying money system. Banking system were established.
3. Indian Maritime trade
   1. Common goods were traded because ships could hold more products safely.
   2. Magnetic compass, Astrolabe, New ship designs-Junk.
   3. Swahili states became islamic and established coastal trade posts.
      1. Swahili language was born. Swahili = Bantu+Arabic
